Lamaan is engaged as Counsel and plays a leading role in the Corporate and Commercial team at S&A Lawyers LLP. She has been with the firm since September 2015. She acts for a broad range of global financial investors, banks and both national and multinational companies on various corporate transactions with a focus on foreign investments, legal due diligence investigations; major acquisitions in the tourism and hospitality industry; regulatory compliance and the full spectrum of banking and finance matters. Prior to joining S&A Lawyers LLP, Lamaan undertook legal internships at Hisham & Associates in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and at Julius & Creasy, the second oldest and largest law firm in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

- Advising an American real estate fund in their acquisition of ‘W Maldives’ and ‘Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa’ in the Maldives and in the related financing for the acquisition from a Singaporean Bank;
- Advisin a Maldivian telecommunications company in the financing of USD 75 million from two foreign financial institutions;
- Advising a Singaporean bank in the re-financing of USD 334.5 million for six related tourism developments in the Maldives;
- Acting for a Saudi Arabian financial institution in a USD 10 million facility each to two Maldivian Banks;
- Advising a UAE company in their acquisition of the sub-leasehold rights of ‘Olhahali’ in Maldives and as local counsel in the related financing from a Mauritius Bank;
- Advising an American real estate fund in their acquisition of ‘Anantara Dhigu’, ‘Anantara Veli’ and ‘Naladhu’ resorts in the Maldives and as local counsel in the related financing for the acquisition from a German Bank;
- Advising a Thai listed company’s local subsidiaries as local counsel in relation to the public offering and sale of 1,368,918,808 ordinary shares by the listed company;
- Advising a Thai real estate investment trust in their acquisition of the holding company of ‘Dusit Thani Maldives’ resort in the Maldives and as local counsel in the related financing for the acquisition from a Thai Bank;
- Advising an American real estate fund in their acquisition of ‘Conrad Maldives Rangali Island’ resort in the Maldives and as local counsel in the related financing for the acquisition from a German Bank;
- Advising an American private investment firm in their acquisition of 100% shares in Trans Maldivian Airways, a seaplane operating company in the Maldives and as local counsel in the related financing from the branch of a Hong Kong Bank;
- Advising an Abu Dhabi private company in their acquisition of the holding company of ‘Cheval Blanc Randheli’ resort and as local counsel in the related financing for the acquisition from an Abu Dhabi Bank;
- Advising an Abu Dhabi Bank in relation to the offering of USD 100m notes by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury on behalf of the Government of Maldives;
- Advising a Hong Kong listed company’s Hong Kong subsidiary in relation to the offering of USD 200m notes by the Ministry of Finance and Treasury on behalf of the Government of Maldives;
- Advising a Thai listed company, in their acquisition of the holding entity of ‘Outrigger Konotta Maldives Resort’ and as local counsel in the related financing for the acquisition from two Thai Banks.
