Sama is an Associate at S&A Lawyers LLP, focused on corporate practice. She has been involved in corporate, banking and finance, dispute resolution and civil litigation matters since joining the firm in October 2020.
Sama completed her training at S&A Lawyers LLP during which she had gained experience in the very broad range of corporate, commercial and employment practices of the firm. Prior to this, Sama had interned with S&A Lawyers LLP, the Attorney General’s Office and at the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Maldives.
Sama also undertook a legal internship at one of the largest law firms in Malaysia, Chooi & Company + Cheang & Ariff. She worked alongside some of the leading lawyers in Malaysia and provided her support in corporate, arbitration, and intellectual property practice.

- Undertook due diligence for the acquisition of greenfield and operational tourist properties in the Maldives and assisting in the related financing of these acquisitions
- Assisted in the drafting and issuance of legal opinions and title reports in relation to the re-financing and project finance of tourism developments in the Maldives from foreign banks and financial institutions
- Assisted in advising a global social media platform and an international airline company in relation to the regulatory framework in the Maldives
- Preparation and registration of share transfers in foreign investment companies set up in the Maldives for both tourism and non-tourism purposes
- Assisted the sole arbitrator presiding over an arbitration hearing held in relation to a commercial dispute at the Asian International Arbitration Centre in Malaysia
