Mizna is a highly qualified attorney-at-law with expertise in Employment law, Aviation, Banking and Financial law. She has over 15 years experience in private legal practice in addition to practicing as in-house counsel for a number of corporations and entities engaged in aviation, tourism, infrastructure projects, financial institutions and banks in Maldives. 

She leads the firm’s Employment Law section in labour dispute resolutions as well as advising clients to ensure compliance with the increasingly changing dynamics of the Employment Law in the Maldives. Mizna is known for her strong communication skills and leadership experience that enable our clients to reinforce and guide their management teams to function better with the legal expertise they require from time to time. Her other areas of specialty include Aviation, Corporate and financial law, Dispute resolution and litigation, Arbitration and Mediation, Foreign Investments, Regulatory and Compliance and Tourism and real estate law. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mizna worked as Counsel at the Ministry of Economic Development and as in-house counsel for the first international airline in the Maldives as well as at the largest private hospital in the Maldives.

Her recent experience includes advising:
  • Aircraft acquisition and refinancing agreement for over 10 aircrafts that were sold by a Canadian company to a Japanese aircraft leasing company;
  • Representing a new international aircraft leasing company in the negotiation with the lease of 4 aircraft to the largest aircraft operation in the Maldives;
  • An Indian bank in relation to international banking transaction in respect of a multi-million dollar banking facility;
  • Representing and advising foreign and local banks registered in the Maldives relating to debt recovery.
